I beg for mercy
I beg for it again and again
I want not riches
I want not fame
Nor do I want to be invincible

All I ask for is a numbing peace
One which can cease my emotions
One which can cloud my mind
One which can last longer
Than I can

All I ask for is that which I have
I can Keep
I ask of you only
To not take away what I have
For it is only those people and things
I love

I know nothing can last forever
But I plead to you
Can you not make it last
Just a little bit longer?

Can you not see?
Where I stand?
Are you blinded
By your own situation?
Are you locked up
In a hall of mirrors?

Are you he,
whom I need
But am I he
whom you ignore?

Do you not feel,
Even if for a moment
That what you do
To yourself
By yourself
Is Killing me?

Do you not realise
It is your own mind
That has trapped you?
That it will take down the mothership
And all the boats tied to it?

Can you not wake up?
Can you not escape?
If not for ours
Then for your own sake?

You care not for what I say
But do you care not for me?
You think you know what is going on
So well
But that is really the only reason
That from so high up
You fell.

Life has ceased to be
What it had alluded to
In the blooming yesteryears

When the spring lasted all year
When the flowers never withered
When the Sunsets were longer than the day
When the sky was always clear

It was a little switch
It flicked with a spark
That set it all ablaze

The fire saw not what it consumed
For what it consumed became the fire
The fire left behind what lives on
But that which never breathes

Now we stand with it
But not for it
We run but never walk
We command but never talk
Not only was it the sunset that left
Not only was it the sky that darkened
But our hearts
They were abandoned by our minds.

I feel no joy from sunsets any longer.
I feel no comfort from a warm bowl of soup
I see not majesty in the ocean but fear
I look for escapes, not ideas.

Oh I miss those days so much
When the Sunrise brought new hope
And when the night sky still brought sleep.
